Signs that you may be feeling depressed can include:
It may be that you are not sure if you are depressed and this can seem more likely if depression has developed over a significant time. Often it can be more noticeable to others you are acting out of character. It can start from reoccurring negative thoughts that lead to sadness hopelessness and despair.
There are times when depression can occur from a single event where we react in a way where we feel overwhelmed with the inability to cope. This can come in the form of a distressing life event, from a bereavement or circumstance that we find ourselves in. Other times it can occur from childhood experiences that manifest and affect adult life. The onset of depression can come also come on from a physical or mental illness, anger that builds up and manifests into depression, being in a difficult relationship, a job loss or a dependency on drugs or alcohol.
